FAQ
Q: How do I register for childcare?
A: Click the ‘Register Now’ button in the upper right corner of the main menu to complete and submit the initial intake form. From there Treetop will be in contact about the next steps to complete registration.
Q: Does Treetop offer childcare spots to students from other schools?
A: For the 2024/25 school year Treetop is only able to offer spots to Edison students.
Q: Does Treetop accept scholarships requests?
A: Yes, there may be several options. Please visit our scholarship page for more information.
Q: Are academic classes included in the M-F childcare prices?
A: Yes, all academic classes and extended-care are included as part of Treetop’s regular program. Please see our ‘Programs’ page for a description of Treetop’s academic classes.
Q: What are Treetop’s hours of operation?
A: Everyday school is in session from the end of school until 6pm. No-school day ‘Hackathons’ are 8am-5pm.
Q: Where can I find more information about Treetop policies?
A: You can download Treetop’s Parent Handbook under the ‘More’ then ‘For Parents’ tabs on this website.
Q: Is Treetop Academics a certified childcare?
A: Yes, Treetop is a certified childcare with the Office of Childcare and a certified DHS provider.
Q: Are all students from different grades together after-school?
A: Yes, all K-5 th grade students are together in Treetop’s programs. Curriculum may be differentiated and there may be grade-level groups in the academic portion of the day. All students are working within and considered part of the same group.
Q: What are Treetop's Drop off and Pick-Up Procedures?
A: For regular care, your student will make their way from their class at dismissal. Please let the school/teacher know of their after school plan. Pick up from our program (preferably at or after 4:15 pm when our academic class end) will be through the playground side gates. We’ll either be in the playground or the cafeteria. Occasionally, we’ll be in the gym but someone will be there to direct you.
For our No School Day Camps, please escort your student to cafeteria for drop off- through the playground gates. Pick up will also be through the playground gates. Please make sure to check in with a staff member before taking your student.
Q: What are Hackathons?
A: Hackathons are Treetop’s no-school day camps. For the 2022/23 school year, Treetop is offering ten no-school day camps. Please click ‘Hackathon’ in the main menu for dates, times, and prices.
Q: Does Treetop have social media?
A: Yes, Treetop has an Instagram account Facebook page. Please click on those icons in the main menu to view and follow. It is a great way to see what your students are doing each week.
Q: How to communicate that my student will be at school but not attend Treetop?
A: Treetop will know if your student is not at school or if they were signed out through the office. We will not know if your student had other plans after-school. If there is a change in your student’s dismissal plan on any given day, please notify Edison’s office & Jason by email before noon, or by text (541-510-1279) before 2:30 pm. If plans change after 2:30 pm please pick up your student from Treetop. This helps us and Edison keep track of every student, making sure they are all safe and where they’re supposed to be, at a very busy time for the building!!
Q: When can my student return to Treetop after Illness?
A: Generally, after 24 hours fever-free without the use of fever reducing medications and other symptoms are improving. If your student is home sick from school they also shouldn’t be attending Treetop. When in doubt it’s best to stay home.
Q: How do I change my childcare schedule or drop from the program or school day camp?
A: Treetop has a two week drop/change policy for our program to assist with planning, staffing, and activities. So, if you’d like to change your schedule, please let us know in writing (an email) when your students’ last day with us will be 2 weeks prior to that last day. For our no-school days, please make any schedule changes (in drop off/pick time or cancellations) 2 weeks prior to the day of camp.
Q: Someone new (not on enrollment forms) will be picking up my student, what should I do?
A: Please email jason@treetopacademics.com or text 541-510-1279 with: Name, Phone Number, and Relationship . Have pick-up person bring a photo-ID.
