Our Story

As an educator, and over almost two decades, our Founder and Director, developed high-quality programs for students at Edison. Over the years, Treetop’s enrichment programs were born out of the needs of the Edison community. In developing and implementing those programs, Treetop has evolved into a premier after-school enrichment program. Our Director began teaching with a single after-school class at Edison and gradually grew Treetop to what it has become today with six S.T.E.A.M.+ academic classes/week, certified childcare, artist-in-residence, and beyond.

Through the years, what is now Treetop, started as Art classes, then Science, with added multi-day Language programs, and tutoring. After parent need and requests, Treetop evolved into additional multi-day Kindergarten Enrichment programs (when the Kinder day was half days,) and additional aftercare childcare. Over the years, prior to 2020 Treetop has also offered Science and Art classes to 14 elementary schools in 4j. Treetop provided all-day childcare, with academic support, during the COVID-19 pandemic and expanded offerings during student’s initial return to school. The 2021/22 school year placed Treetop at the Willard site where our capacity increased and we were able to provide services to more students than proper to 2020.

Treetop continues to adapt and evolve to fit the needs of Edison students while delivering high-quality certified childcare and a diverse range of daily academic classes. The 2022/23 year brings new changes in an expanded program serving 80 students daily in addition to 10 no-school day events with all-day childcare. Treetop strives to create partnerships with the surrounding community to bring greater opportunities for our students. In the future, we will continue to pursue relationships with partners to offer opportunities for all students while keeping the integrity of our programs to the highest standard possible.
